3Good for car camping; careful if you're more rugged than that.Feb 17, 2011

I took this hiking in the Grand Canyon, and it was fine as a pad, but it got ripped up easily. I keep it strapped on the outside of my pack, and passing trees rip it up. So if you're only car camping, this is a fine, cheap choice. But if you're going rugged, buy something more sturdy.

5Great Pad!Dec 22, 2010

I recently purchased this item, as did the other 2 members of my party for a 3 day hike on the Sheltowee Trace. During the night the temperature dipped down below 30 degrees, and without this pad I would've frozen. It was lightweight, and very lightweight. This was the cheapest pad I could find and I will defininetely be using it in the future.

5Worked fineJul 24, 2010

We purchased 5 of these for a recent 2-week family camping trip, and they did a good job of providing comfort on moderate to smooth ground. In one situation where we were forced to camp on rough ground, some of the lumps could be felt through the pad.

4Very light-weight and great priceOct 04, 2011

I wasn't expecting this pad to feel as comfortable as my bed, and it isn't. But sleeping on this mat is much better than sleeping on the ground. It is very light-weight, rolls up easily and the elastic bands are great for holding it together when it's rolled up. I cut it a little bit (just using a scissors) to make it a bit narrower and shorter because I'm not a very big person and this makes it even smaller to transport.

Scratches do show up fairly easily but I didn't expect the pad to be indestructible and it's nothing that affects the effectiveness of the pad. Also, the low price of the mat means that if it is in rough shape after my travels around West Africa I won't be out too much money when I throw it out. Overall I am very satisfied!

4Worth the moneyJun 30, 2011

This sleeping pad was alright for its price. I've only used it on one weekend thus far and as other people have said it does tear easily. Another thing I noticed is it conforms to the contour of the ground a little too well; instead of leveling out the ground and giving you a smoother sleeping surface it simply took the edge off any small rocks or sticks you may not have gotten clear out. What I'm getting at is the next morning when I woke up the pad was essentially molded to the ground, when I picked it up you could still see every bit of the ground's texture within the mat. Next time, unless I buy a high end pad, I'll probably just buy a military surplus standard issue sleeping pad. I've used them plenty of times before and I'd much rather sleep on it.

All in all this is a nice pad for its low cost though.
