These are great tent stakes! Every ounce helps. I take great pride in the incredibly light weight of my pack. I filed mine down to drop the diameter even more then cut them off two inches and bent them to stick in the dirt better. I brag about these babies to everybody; friends, bears, squirrels, stumps, etc. Anyone who will listen and some who don't.

Good balance of weight and strength....Jan 10, 2011
By B. Stewart Yes, these could be a little lighter (thinner) but it would be at the expense of the strength needed to function in rocky soil. I'm sure the orange heads will keep me from losing at least one per campsite. I carry some of these and some of the titanium sand/snow stakes also made by Vargo. Fits my needs perfectly.

Nice StakesAug 02, 2011
By John Robben Use these quite a bit to stake out my tarp tent. Still haven't bent, and the orange head really helps in locating them in the weeds.

Great StakesMar 21, 2011
By Demiurge Bought two packs of these to replace the 12 that came with my solo tent. My tent requires the stakes, and the steel stakes that came with it took up a good percentage of the overall weight.
These stakes can take abuse, and are AMAZINGLY lightweight. I agree with the other post, in that the cost is well worth the noticeable weight difference.
Highly recommend these stakes for anyone who backpacks, especially with tents that require them. This was the cheapest, easiest weight drop I have achieved in one purchase.

Lightweight, visible, there are lighter weight optionsSep 03, 2010

Using titanium spikes like this are much better than using larger stakes due to difficulty getting larger ones into hard ground or between rocks. The orange hi-vis color helps prevent forgetting them in the ground. However, I have to say that I do own significantly lighter wt titanium stakes that are thinner than the VArgo, albeit more flexible/bendable.
