Thermarest Lite better.Oct 17, 2011

I own this, plus Thermarest Lite seat pads (the ones in PLum or Pomegranate colors). This trail seat is larger, wider, and heavier. It is covered with CLOTH! This absorbs sweat, becomes dirty and dingy rapidly, and serves no useful purpose as it's too thin to be insulating. The non-removable cloth makes this pad hard to wash. I much prefer the smaller, more compact, lighter weight design of the Thermarest Lite seat pad, which is a soft vinyl (hard to describe, but it's not sweaty vinyl) and much more easily cleaned and retains no odor like this unwashable cloth Trail Pad.
In addition, the Lite model rolls so small and fits in my pocket or my wife's purse well; this TrailPad absolutely does not. It's oversized, and heavier, and is not as compact.
So, for me, the Lite wins over the Trail Pad (or the too thick camp pad) in spades.

I recently lost weight, and no long have the padding I used to have. It took a few tries to get the amount of air right, but now that I have it adjusted, I can enjoy the evening in front of the TV again. I took vacation, and left my pillow at home, never again! BJ

By 2JacketsFans Bought this to use in my kayak. Price was right, packs up small, comfortable, light and easy to use. Would buy another.
Therm-a-rest Trail SeatMar 15, 2012
By Phyllis I keep one of these in my car, one in my den, one at my desk and another for travel. It takes all of the worry out of having to sit on an uncomfortably hard chair for any length of time. It rolls up compactly so it's easy to slip into a purse. I couldn't live without these seats!
Comfort Anywhere, AnytimeNov 28, 2011
By Toni Frankenberg I have back problems that make it necessary for me to have sufficient support whenever I am sitting down. The Trail Seat has become my perfect answer both at home and when traveling. I have three Trail Seats and I use them throughout my day. I have one in each car as my back will not travel without the support it affords. I also have one that I use in the house on various chairs that I require additional support on. This one I also take when flying. When I roll the the air out I can roll it neatly and stuff it on the outside of my carry-on and then inflate and sit in the plane with comfort. I have never had a problem going through the airport screening with it. In addition, on long trips by car or plane it is nice throughout the course of the day to be able to change the amount of firmness by letting some air out or in as needed. When hiking it goes in my pack so that I never sit on hard, damp or rocky ground. The Trail Seat is there to save the day. My only request would be for some less flashy colors as 2 of mine are neon green, but hey they really bring a dimension of comfort into my life that was in very short supply before a friend recommended I get the first one.
