Textport heater is not a bad item to have.Apr 13, 2010
By Christopher Nalbone As of 4/13/10 I have used this heater about ten times.I use it in my basement workshop near my work bench. The basement is a little cool in the winter so I decided a small heater is a good thing.I would not recommend using a propane heater of this type indoors. You should shut down this heater if you leave the room.Never leave this heater unattended.Of course I always live a bit on the risk taking side of life,so I'm ok with heating devices.I have read some comments that are on the negative end, saying the heater will not stay lit.Looking at the construction of this heater ,I will have to say that the thermocouple is the weak point. The heater is a simple design and should be easy to repair.I believe there is a 5 year warranty so why worry .

Worked well for three monthsDec 19, 2008
By W. Battagin I bought this heater 3 months ago and it worked fine at first. I had used it about 20-30 times when it began decreasing in its heat output until only the high setting would keep the unit running (the thermocouple would not sense enough heat on the med and lo settings). Not wanting to deal with the hassle of sending it back and having some experience with these things I accessed the main jet and carefully cleaned it and the threaded chamber it's in, reassembled but to no avail. Same sluggish operation. Long story short, I disassembled deeper into the unit being carefull but in the end, I scrounged some parts off another heater and got it working properly. This is an example of another pc. of huooey from China. Too bad, it's the only heater like it out there taht I know of...appropriate for certain tasks.

Great tent heaterFeb 05, 2011
By Matthew S. Raimondi III One propane tank lasts about 7 hours. I used it ice fishing twice (8x8 tent) and we all had to take off our hats, gloves, and jackets in the tent. Tents aren't perfectly insulated so I don't think the CO is an issue. I also used this tailgating in a dual tent (2 10x10 tents) next to a Mr. Heater. This out performed the Mr. Heater. First, the handle on the Mr. Heater is cheap plastic and broke after the second use. A simple bump and it turns off. It also rips through propane in 3-4 hours. Then there is the test of which one is hotter. The hand test showed they were both about the same. Everyone was warm enough to remove layers in the tent.
Overall, this heater wins. It's cheap, simple metal construction, easy to carry/move, lasts long and most importantly, puts out heat.

ScaryJan 10, 2012
By FishManJoe It worked great at first in my ice shack. It would get louder during certain times and then quiet again, all of a sudden it got really loud and started spitting flames! I shut it off but it kept going and flaming, i threw it out of the shack and it eventually went off. I wont use it again.

Heats up a small space quicklyNov 14, 2011
By horsegurl16 We used this in the front part of our horse trailer, where we had a bed and dressing room, while camping. It heated up the small space quickly. Works great.
