BEST FAMILY TENT #1/ WEATHERMay 21, 2011
By Nida I researched to the FULLEST every detail of every family tent..I was so excited, the shipping time frames were amazing I got it in 3 business days. When it arrived I immediately set it up in my back yard. The first thing I noticed is "this thing is gigantic." I'm a girl who's only put together one 4 person tent before, however I barely looked at the instructions it was pretty self explanatory, the first time was a little tricky but after that I had a rhythm down and could put it up and take it down by myself no problem. Once up it was fantastic, big, tall, and beautiful even got the top cover on by myself. I have no regrets in my buying decision which is why I took my time searching.. I've used it three times now so far camping, Things that make this tent great- Big/ a lot of space 2-3 rooms, two of the rooms can fit a queen air mattress comfortably in each , the big front room can fit like 2 air mattresses, lol or maybe even 3.. I used the large room for my room, one back room for my son, and the other room for storage. I not only wanted space I wanted a lot of ventilation and it had plenty, when it was hot during the day it was very breezy I even took a nap and it was blissful, and when it got cold at night I was able to zip up every window, and that was an important feature.. A lot of the Family tents screen rooms did not zip up which was a big negative for me and some didn't even have a floor in the screen room "WHAT" I just thought that was silly.. Well this one does have a floor, makes for a lot of sweeping though. Also I need compact, so I was very satisfied with how easily it went back into the bag with poles and all. This tent in the bag was smaller than other campers bags and my tent was like 2X's bigger..I love how I got compliments up the wazoo people even wanted to take a tour and my tent now has the nick name of the Taj Mahal.. All of this gave me the validation that I got an awesome/perfect tent.. The Tent was very sturdy but I always recommend the heavier duty stakes. I love this tent so much and even with seeing all the new house looking tents I'm still happy with mine and no regrets..FYI looks just like the pictures just better way better.
WEATHER: This weekend was my first time with the tent in bad weather, it was a two nighter with about 60 other people in my camp group. The First Night Friday: the Winds were horrific We were all terrified and didn't sleep a wink that night in fear of a tornado I live in Texas and we were deep in a huge camp area I didn't even know if we would hear sirens.. but the sound of the wind in the trees and the the way it hit the tent was just to much to sleep, I thought it was just going to take the tent and throw us around, but it didn't. So I still rate the tent a 5 star because the tent held up and held up well. Because the design of the tent has a lot of stake holes and I know that helped out a lot I did use the heavy duty stakes too, but I believe the tent stayed grounded because there were so many stakes.. The Second Night Saturday: The storm came in thunder, lightning and heavy rain.. with lightning it was dangerous inside any tent and we almost blew the horn to sleep in the cars, but the thunder and lightning eventually died down, however the heavy rain did not it rained none stop from 3pm Saturday on through til the time I packed up at 10am Sunday morning I only had one small puddle but that was because I missed tying down one part of the top cover so I'd say it was my fault, the only time rain got in was when I packed it up in the pouring and rain and muddy ground, I should have used a tarp underneather.. All in all I was very satisfied with the way the tent held up with the bad weather, I thought the windows would be a problem because they don't have a zipper at the top just velcro but they didn't leak at all.

Great tentJun 07, 2011
By jr888 Did hours of research on camping tents and decided on this tent due to the ventilation and the fly that keeps out heat (has silver sections on fly). This tent arrived quickly and was a breeze to set up. Good strong poles and simple assembly. Excellent ventilation and lots of room. The tent actually fit back into it's bag with no effort and is very light even with it's heavy duty steel poles. We had a little problem with the fly but after notifying VM Innovations, they within minutes fixed our problem and sent us a new fly. So far this tent is excellent; we have yet to use it in the rain though. I will review again after that.
Update used in extremely heavy rain/lightning/high winds and this tent is excellent....no leaks, easy set up and easy take down. Actually fits easily in bag. Company helped with small problem I had, instantly fixed issue 02/22/2011

Wonderful Family Tent! Or for Anyone!Mar 26, 2012
By Jayne L. Seffrood
"Frenchi"
There was a minor problem with my first tent. A manufacturing flaw no one could have predicted really. A rivet in the one of the steel poles had not been properly ground off and as a result when I assembled the tent, it got a hole in it and I scratched my hand. BUT I still loved the tent so much, I was willing to keep it! But as the hole was in a load bearing stressful place, the seller sent me a new tent after I returned the first one. At their expense. I received both tents within 2 days of ordering them! Stellar Shipping times! I put up the new tent 2 days ago, and the first day was hot and the air was still. GREAT! Last night, the wind picked up and it rained. And was it windy!!! Now here I must admit to not using the standard 5" stakes that came with the tent. I ALWAYS have better stakes for any new tent purchased. I used some 10" nail stakes I had bought in anticipation of the huge tent. I had no idea the tent could use up to 32 stakes, so when it came via FedEx,I ran to town and picked up a few more! Well, ok, quite a few more! NOT a big deal. It really rained last night, and the wind was nasty! I do not believe the standard stakes would have stayed in the ground. And not one drop of rain in the tent. Not one! This tent is huge at 20 X 12 feet, but please don't think this is just a family tent. I can fully see taking all 4 grandkids on a trip, but can also see this being perfect for my husband and I alone, making the screen room a card club at the campgrounds!!!! Or a fold up hammock! Whatever! Set up instructions are not great as previously reported, but anyone can figure it out. One helpful hint, when putting in the door awning fiberglass poles unclip the fly from the steel poles. The directions tell you otherwise but you will go nuts trying to figure out how to get it done that way. The fly won't go anywhere in the process, I promise. Now, to be sure, there ARE 32 stakes to this tent. But you wouldn't always have to use them. The tent is very sturdy with far less as shown in the photos from other customers. But if there is any chance of big wind, you will want to go the the trouble of attaching all the guy lines. It all depends on the situation. I am looking forward to going camping this summer and being able to leave off the fly altogether. It is still raining, when the weather clears up I will try to remember to post a pic or two of what the tent looks like with all lines up and ready to go! Oh, one more point, I couldn't believe how comfortable the tent was in the wind and cold! I thought with the entire roof being netted and so much ventilation in the tent it might not be the tent to use in cooler weather. I'm sure a completely closed of tent would be warmer, but I was astonished at just how comfortable this tent was in the cooler weather! I LOVE this tent!

We'll seeJun 09, 2011
By osurephil got the tent quickly....set it up for the first time today...instructions are a little fuzzy but not terrible...i had trouble getting the poles to fit...they are really really really snug trying to fit them on the little pieces of metal at the bottom...i couldn't even get one set of poles to fit...i might have to use a hacksaw and take an inch off each pole because i was struggling to so hard to get them to fit i tore some of the tent fabric which i'll have to sew back up....seems really big inside and should definitely sleep 8 easy with air mattresses which is what i need...haven't come across rain yet...it does come with some sealer so i'll use that and see how it does..
TLDR...huge tent...fit and finish a little rough...don't know about rain yet
