Great Line for Fishing amd for SewingJul 03, 2011
By L. Kingery This line is great for fishing or sewing. I have two fishing rods with this line on them and never have had an issue. This line is also what I chose to sew flat braided nylon to make a strap for my PS-90. This line is the only thing that could match the strength and resistance to water that the braided nylon has.
Pros: Strong tensile strength, really thin, resistant to weather
Cons: None

only line I useJul 03, 2011
By FishingMedic Living in Florida, I may be hanging into a bass, a redfish, a speckled trout, a flounder, or who knows what on the next cast. I use invisibraid 10# with a 10# fluorocarbon leader and it is all good. Line is sensitive enough for those pesky lil bait snatchers and has brought in a 45# redfish. I use this on all my rods except my frog and spinner-bait rods and that is ONLY because I want the mono stretch on those baits. After years of trying many brands, thois is the one for me. long casts, sensitive line with great strength. You won't be sorry

Been a rabid fan of "Spidey" aka Spiderwire since they first came out, while many had scoffed and snickered at me; but learned very quickly this is one tough stuff. However, it isn't all fishing I use it for; I've used it for hand-held spear fishing to retrieve the spear and the fish to crafting; for it is that durable and strong. This spool is actually for my Indian beading, so it won't break and would be passed on from generation to generation. It is very difficult to find one in this hue and worse in 10/2 size.
Nevertheless, Spiderwire is a brand name you can trust; even though its own weight and poundage may imply wise and otherwise, I've landed 118 lb Bull Shark with just a 10/12, as he was gunning after the Spanish Mackerel just caught and reeling in, and the line never once broke, frayed, or even charred! Yes, my pole did break, but still was able to battle against the Bull who was in a fit! Once close enough at the Pier, another Fisherman came with the hook and along with several men with the dolly to lift him up. Bulls were running everywhere and poles were being broken, but I grabbed my deep sea fishing pole and being disappointed at the line, just loaded her up with the Spiderwire 10/18, the whole 300 yards of it; and landed myself another Bull. only a 92 lb, then another one at 132 lb, until nearly at 4:30 A.M. did my arms grow tired after this long battle with not sure what it was out there for several hours, but by the time the record stood at that night was a 202ΒΌ lb Bull. I was ready to call it quits and cut the line, yet, no one would let me, free coffee was given so I continued on, soon it was nearly 5 A.M. and signs were showing that it was tired of fighting, I needed a break, so a fellow came by to help reel him in, and stated it was not a shark, this caused everyone over to this side of the Pier and the Spot light was turned on.
After feeling refreshed but very sore, walking down to the boardwalk below, to reel him in with a few people down there by permission; it turned out to be a protected species, a Jewfish which is also known as Goliath Grouper. Because it was not tagged, the Marine had to be summoned over so it could be properly tagged, and so on, and a quick weighing and a puncture (so it would not kill the fish), then it was lead back out to the deep waters. Never in my life have I ever caught one, and to many, they had never seen one before except pictures in the books so cameras were flashing. As for that danged fish, it toppled the scales at over 240 lbs! I was just too tired to even look up, just too busy looking at this huge monster I had been battling and thinking of how many grouper sandwiches I could have eaten if they weren't endangered and protected.
When you want the very best, stick with the name you can trust, whether it be fresh, brackish or salt water. I've used them in all - and fishes snatches them every time, hook, line, and sinker!
Spiderwire Invisibraid good stuffApr 18, 2012

I have been using the 6 lb Spiderwire Ultracast Invisibraid for inshore fishing and I have really liked the stuff. It cast great. Very few wind knots as long as you are not directly casting into the wind. Very strong and very thin. Have caught several upper slot size redfish, nice trout because I can cast way out and not spook them. Very happy with the product.
