Blindingly Bright LightJan 23, 2008
By Weatherman Here is one light that is BRIGHT! Not only do you have 20 white LED, but 4 Red and 4 blue! The white is for your general night viewing. Red lights help keep your night vision. Blue are for low light areas. Personally I like the same light, but with the 4 green LED instead of the blue (do a search here at amazon as it's available). But the I've found a good use for the blue in looking at maps at night.
It comes with a great carrying case you can clip on your belt through a velcro backing. And on the outside of the case is a small pocket to put three extra batteries.
Those who work nights and need a good light (Law Enforcement, EMS), here is the light you need. It looks stylish, and feels good in your hand. Ends are squared so that it does not roll. The middle of the light where you hold it are grooved so the light does not "sweat out" of your hands.
Battery power is good. Like any light it will not last 12 hours constantly on. But the 20 white LED are bright yet seem to use less power. And the red and blue use even less power and will work even when the white is dim or out as they use even less power.

Powerful feeling flashlightJun 29, 2008
By James C. Dooley The flashlight has a solid feel, nice click to the buttons, and the battery has not warn out yet (I've had it for about 3 months with casual usage). The different colors are a nice touch, but one thing worth noting, you need to go through the colors, you can't pick them individually. One press gets blue, the next red, then off. So while white light can just be turned on and off, you can't just get to the red light, you need to go through blue first.

Very niceNov 28, 2007
By Sinjin This flashlight works exactly as described. The white LED is much brighter than I expected! It's similar to those hyper-white lights some of the newer cars have and definitely puts out a lot of light for the size. The blue and red led's are also bright, although the blue has a bit more of a focused (smaller) beam than the rest. Overall, I'd recommend.

Okay, but can do betterNov 16, 2008
By Sandstone Pros:
-Very nice construction
-2 button system
-pleasantly diffused white light (not as large a zone as I'd prefer though)
-anti-roll barrel
-able to stand flat on end
-comes with case, batteries
-comfortable grip
-intermittent off by half-pushing button (but intermittent on would be more practical)
-convenient one-hand button switch
Cons:
-relatively large and heavy when compared to similar lights
-lack of intermittent on (see above)
-not nearly as bright as comparable Cree or Luxeon type lights
(note: Cree and Luxeon are types of high intensity LED's, Luxeon LED's are manufactured by Philips and Cree is a semiconductor company. Their bulbs can be found in a variety of products.)
If you're interested in this light, be sure to check out the Coleman Max. It comes with a 115 lumen Cree LED, and has a very innovative Red/Green (or Red/Blue) switching system.
The S&W is 228 grams and 160 mm tall
The Coleman Max is 150 grams and 125 mm tall
The Coleman has intermittent on (good), but rear-mounted switch harder to operate one-handed
The "dim" modes (red, green) on the Coleman are MUCH dimmer. This can be a pro or a con, depending on your use.
I own both, and would recommend the Coleman Max
(model # 2000001578 purchased at Wal-Mart for approx $30)

Great TorchMar 29, 2008
By Brett Griffin You know some things just look and feel like they are good quality. Well I think this torch is one of them. It's about 6 and 1/2 inches long, and 1 inch in diameter at the back end and about an inch and a half at the light end. The beam is more of a flood light than the focused beam of an incandescent torch like a Maglight but is very white and bright at up to medium ranges. The red and blue light actually seem more focused than the white and are surprisingly bright for only 4 LED's each. Batteries are AAA's and loaded into a magazine type cylinder before being inserted into the back of the torch. Both ends of it have flats on them which will help stop it rolling. It comes with a very well made pouch that will fit on a belt and has storage for spare batteries. I bought it to do walk arounds on aircraft at night and for this purpose I think it will be ideal.
