Poor quality, not reliableMay 19, 2008
By M. Evon I really liked this tool at first. Seemed to have everything I'd need for quick trailside repairs in a nice compact package. All was well for about one month, until I used the chain tool. First time I used the chain tool it broke. The metal for the "teeth" seemed too soft and simply broke off, making the chain tool useless. Fortunately this happened in my garage, not on some trail miles from nowhere.
Things like this really piss me off. Its essentaily a tool for emergency use, but what good is it if it isn't reliable? I'll probably still keep this with me for a while, just bring along a seperate chain tool, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Weak componentsMar 11, 2010

Upon receiving the MTB-3 I used it to replace the pedals on my MTB using the pedal wrench that is built into the chain tool. With very minimal torque, the wrench kept slipping off, like the wrench was too big. Closer examination showed a crack in the tool that was almost invisible until you applied torque. I notified the store I purchased it from and they agreed to send a replacement. While waiting for the replacement to arrive, I used one of the hex keys to remove my disc brake calipers and the end of the shaft that holds all the tool in popped off. I am hopeful that I got a lemon and this will not happen with the replacement.

nice handy toolsetFeb 19, 2010
By forcesofnature It's got just about all you'll need for roadside and many at-home repairs.
Only gets 4 stars from me, because the straight edge screwdriver and the 3mm allen key are on the same
side of the tool (it splits in two) as the wrenches, and my bike (is a recumbent,
so it's a bit odd) has a few bolts that need both the wrench and the 3mm allen key to undo,
so I've got to carry an extra wrench in addition to the this tool.
4,5,6,8mm allen wrenches, T25 driver, phillips screwdriver, 1 tire tool on one half,
all the rest on the other half, plus the chain tool. No you can't remove the individual tools
(other than the chain tool) from the base.

pretty good toolNov 02, 2008

I purchased this tool when I bought my bike.I have owned and used this tool since about the second week of June 08.
I have used it to transform my Kona Fire Mountain bicycle into a Xtracycle.
The only other tool I needed was a cable cutter, since then, I have used it for just about all my maintenance needs. My only concern is that some places and areas it is a little tight fitting the tool in and getting enough torque, tightening the kickstand bolt comes to mind.
All in all a pretty good tool.
Good, if used properlyOct 04, 2011
By lex This thing has a good variety of tools on it. However, I would advise against using it as a pedal wrench as it doesn't hold up well to that degree of force being applied to it. The half that has the large allen key on it literally exploded in my hands when I was trying to unscrew a pedal. The shaft that was holding the keys came apart and spacers/bits launched though the air. I was able to reassemble it since the shaft just screws back together. It also comes with a little pouch.
