Another necessary, yet overpriced tool from ParkJun 24, 2009
By M. McClain These types of handlebar holders are essential when working on anything related to the front of the bike. But just like the tool stand, the price is a little high for what you get. Now some may ask me, "Why would you complain about something that costs less that $20?" Well my only complaint is that it ought to be either included with the stand, or cost more like $10. Rubber coated mild steel is CHEAP.
In the end, though, I would buy it again. Just might complain a little bit too!!

Nice tool to haveDec 11, 2008
By D.Byrd I find this to be really useful.
Yes, you could bend a hanger or other wire object to serve the same purpose, or you could do what I used to do, and that is use a tie-down or velcro strap to hold the in place. But I like this in that it can be taken off/put on with one hand while the other hand holds the bike or tools. Also, it's coated so that it won't scratch the frame like a coat hanger can.

Pretty useful but...Oct 28, 2008
By Jerryf I use this but in some ways it is a pain. It works exactly as you would expect IF you have a simple situation. But, for example, if you have aerobars on the bike, or otherwise a somewhat crowded bar (light, speedo, etc) this gets more difficult. Also, the velcro strap is not very useful since it only "grabs" over about a two inch section so you have to lash it on just so. Further, if you are re-cabling you can expect to have it get in your way. Like I said I use it but... maybe the coat hanger would be better! Or perhaps that old "flickstand" we used to have to hold the front wheel straight (remember it?).

Does one thing and does it wellNov 28, 2009
By Matt I bought one of these for my bike and soon bought another for my wife's bike. It's great for simple bike maintenance that doesn't require a full bike stand. It even makes airing up tires easier when the bars can't swing around and make the bike fall.
If you have a roof rack, I would very highly recommend one of these to simplify getting the bike on and off the rack. It's secure enough to keep on there for the drive, too.

works great!Oct 15, 2009
By JD Well made, light weight with thick soft non-marring vinyl coating. Fits both my road and mountain bikes. Perfect to keep wheel straight while on the work stand, and even better for keeping bike stable just leaning against the wall.
