A magnet at the bottom of the Cyclone’s solvent reservoir draws particles scrubbed from the chain, effectively keeping them from being redistributed on the chain during cleaning. Durable sponge material draws solvent from the chain as it exits the Cyclone, reducing drips and mess. To make it easy to control and use, we’ve even added a handle. Works with all multi-speed bikes and some single-speed models. | | | Features: | |

Park Tool FailureSep 14, 2008
By Michael A. Lane

I've owned three of these cleaners. They do a real nice job of cleaning the chain. The biggest problem I had with all three of the units is that they start to fall apart after only a few uses. Two of the units either the hinge point or latch point or both for the two metal clips break away leaving you unable to lock the top to the body. I only use the Park brand of chain cleaner. The third cleaner the actual cleaning brushes fell apart.
I've ordered the Finish Line chain cleaner. I'll post a review of that product after I have used it for a period of time.

Works great for the right price!Jan 25, 2008
By Joe I am a bike novice, but still want to keep my bike clean. Even using "dry" lube, the chain still accumulates dirt and gunk. Although your chain will only be 90% clean, this scrubber will keep your hands clean. Because it gets so much gunk off your chain, you will need to change the fluid 1-2 times before the chain looks clean. The unit also disassembles well for cleaning (every part can come apart so keep track). Bottom line: it works quickly and cleanly and it's inexpensive!

Works GreatMar 11, 2008

Very effective chain cleaner. Probably not as good as taking your chain off but it does a hell of a job while keeping your chain on the bike. The biggest problem I had was trying to balance my bike while I used the chain cleaner. If you have someone hold the bike you can clean your chain in a flash. A little messy but what do you expect. I've seen some people complain about it being easy to break but it seems pretty sturdy to me. All in all great product and great price.

It's okayFeb 10, 2011

Like others said, this product works well but it is just a pain to use. I've used it about three times now and it's still holding up well. I have been very careful because it seems like it's very easy to break.
Use: 3 stars. It's not easy to pour the cleaning solution, place the chain in the proper positions, clamp the case shut, and then roll chain. It almost seem like you need a third hand to do things. The chain sometimes snags, then the whole case gets pulled one direction or another, then you may need to set up again. It would be cool if they can design the cleaner to be attached to the bike, so then you wouldn't have to hold it.
I think the main question is whether this tool *really* clean the chains... my verdict is no. Yes, I do see little dirt and bits at the bottom of the cleaner when I've run the chains through many many times. But, when I look at the chain itself, it's still not so clean that I'm happy with. After using this tool, I still need to wipe and brush the chain until it's spotless.
Overall, I think it's an okay tool to use. But since it really doesn't do what it's suppose to, I don't recommend it to anyone.

Broke on first use...Apr 24, 2010
By Charles Glendening I've used chain cleaners before, so I was very disappointed when it broke during its first use. It does thoroughly clean the chain, but the clips that hold the lid in place are 'WAY too tight. If you buy one, you may want to relax the wire clips before use. I will replace it with Nashbar's chain cleaner.[...]
