You get what you pay forAug 18, 2010 My husband bought this for me as a birthday gift. It arrived shortly after ordering. The seat is comfortable, as are the hand grips. As I will only use this to ride around our small town, the price is OK for running it into the ground. The decals on the frame were scratched, but this isn't for a fashion show, so I don't mind. The blue is is really pretty.
The manual included instructions for 2 different types of bikes, and having never built a bike before, it was confusing. The fenders are the wrong size for the tires; they barely cover the width, and scrape the tires no matter how I adjust them. Part of the back fender was bent over on itself, over the screw, so I had to disassemble the back tire to unscrew and flatten that part.
The rear left brake pad kept rubbing on the tire, without the brake on. After fiddling with all the tensions to no avail, I took it to the bike shop guy. He said the frame of the bike was not meant for hand brakes, only for back-pedal brakes. He finally got the tension right by switching the order of the washers on the brake pads, although it is already slipping back to the old tension. It is still a little loose, but both front and the right rear pad are fine, so I just won't speed downhill.
I won't order a bike online again. Next time I will invest $50 more and get a nicer one from the local bike shop.
a good deal for this priceAug 15, 2010 This is a very nice bike. It was nicely packed, however, my front fender was bended and I had to bend it back. It's a very comforatable bike, great for relaxation.
She loves it!Aug 01, 2010 I bought this bike from Amazon as a birthday present for an amazing woman, though mature, is very active, vivacious, exciting, and loves adventurous outdoor things that put the wind in her hair and a smile on her face.
She had been given a mountain bike that she rode, but I had to do many things to it to make it at all comfortable - none could make it all the way what she really wanted.
From all she said she wished that bike was, clearly a cruiser would be exactly that. I had to get one for her, but she would be extremely angry with me if she knew I spent too much. Fortunately, I didn't have to.
I pretty much knew when I saw this one it would do the trick.
There were a couple of small scratches on the left seat stay, but no other shipping damage. Not the end of the world, but that could have been better.
Assembly was easy and straight forward as most of it was already done in the box. The one downside is that there was no way the rear fender was ever going to work. No matter what adjustments, it rubbed hard against the (even un-inflated) tire just above the brake calipers.
I couldn't even find a way to modify it to make it work.
So I ended up leaving off both fenders. She didn't miss them, and how she rides, doesn't really need them anyway.
Once all adjustments and fine tuning were done, the huge smile I got from her made my month. She couldn't be happier if I had bought a bike 4 times the price.
It fits her (5'2") perfectly. She's never been as comfortable on any other bike. And now she loves riding even more than before. She beams as she rides. The seat, handlebars, girl's frame, uncomplicated SINGLE shifter gear selection, easy-riding tires, everything just makes her happy.
Therefore, me too.
Love this bike!!Jul 30, 2010 Ladies, if you are looking for a really cute bike, this is the one. The white wall tires, and white fenders give it a really neat 'retro' look....I've had compliments everywhere. I plan to put a basket on in the future to complete the look (wicker maybe?). I looked at several bikes, and chose this one because I don't feel comfortable hunched over on the road bikes, and mountain bikes didn't really suite me either.
I put this together on my own....instruction booklet is confusing, but you can figure it out. The only problem I've had is the adjusting of the front brakes....can't seem to get it just right. I'll have to keep working on that one...haven't had any other problems.
This bike is a joy to ride and I highly recommend it :)

Wasn't worth the money!May 23, 2010 I just honestly did not really like this bike. I really can't put my finger on why, just didn't do anything for me. I just don't care for it. I know one problem is the back brakes don't work, my roommate put it together and did a pretty good job, but for some reason, they just do not work at all. I can see this thing falling apart very quickly, and that doesn't make me happy, considering what I paid for it. Maybe it's just not fast enough, I don't know. I just reallllly didn't like this bike! LOL!
