Great looking, rugged and much smaller than the usual ABC Watches out thereFeb 05, 2010

The typical ABC (Altimeter, Barometer, Compass) watch has come a LONG way since they were first introduced some years ago. Generally speaking, I mean they have managed to squeeze all the same functions into a much smaller space, making these particular watches easier to wear, (especially for those with smaller wrists) and for some, they can even be worn to more formal functions that the usual ABC watch would simply look silly.
I still maintain the Suunto Observer to be about the all-out coolest looking ABC watch available (it's also just about the smallest) that you could wear for almost ANY occasion...its also one of the most expensive, too. This particular Origo model isn't too far removed (IMO) however. Strictly speaking, the negative display model looks better (all things considered) but you may think otherwise. Truth be told, the Origo metal version weighs considerably more than the all black model you can find that essentially LOOKS exactly as this one, just all black...but that is where the similarities end. The metal version weighs close to (if not more than) TWICE as much...and if hefty weight is a factor for you, I suggest you see one up close and personal and physically HOLD it before purchase otherwise you run the risk of being dissatisfied because of that extra weight. Personally, the weight did not bother me at all. It seemed to me that it added a little extra ruggedness about it--although I have no stats to back that up.
As for operation? I'm pretty used to all the functions of an ABC watch, so it worked pretty standard as far as I'm concerned, rather straightforward especially if you are already familiar with this type of wrist computer. If I had to ask for ONE thing it'd be this: an all metal band as an option (which in all honesty you probably can purchase through their website--I haven't tried so I don't know if they do or not). I'm just happy I can have all of the functions of a typical ABC watch WITHOUT the huge enormity of the Suunto X-Lander Wrist-Top Computer Watch with Altimeter, Barometer, Compass, and Chronographor other more GIANT Origo Origo Gannett Peak Compass Watch, Highgear Axis Model 20037 Watch with Altimeter, Barometer, Digital Compass, Chronograph Mode, Temperature, Graphite Black. or Casio Men's Pathfinder Triple Sensor Blue Watch #PAG40B-2V models out there (all of which I own btw).
Cool watch. Decent price...and all the functions work great...it even tells TIME! (shock, I know) I'm satisfied, don't know what else to add. Hope this helps!
