No solvent but seals like urethaneDec 01, 2009
By Jay Unwin I recently sealed the seams on a Eureka Tetragon 1210 tent. I had a bottle each of McNett and Kenyon sealer so I ended up doing a comparison. The McNett was easier to apply because it was thinner, but also because of that it tended to bead up on coated nylon. It doesn't leave much of a visible layer when it is dry. I also noticed that when it got wet during a rainstorm, it turned sort of milky color. I did seal the seams, but it was not very confidence inspiring. The Kenyon is thicker and spreads nicely along the seams and into crevices. When dry, which takes 24 hours, it leaves a shiny clear plastic like film that is tough and really makes you believe that seam is sealed. It was oblivious to the rain that fell on it. I think the solvent based sealers like Seam Grip leave this kind of film, but they are pretty smelly and are sort of like applying airplane cement. My only gripe about the Kenyon is the applicator, which is sort of a sponge built into the top. It is fine for seams out in the open, but for corners a brush would be better. The bottle is also kind of stiff to squeeze.

Works GreatSep 12, 2010
By Stinky K. I used this product on a tent that sat on a beach about forty days in tropical downpours. It stood up fine with no leaks. I recommend that you ditch the applicator however. Get a thin paint brush and use this otherwise you will waste most of the bottle and not really seal you tent very well. I coated both the inside and outside parts of the seam. Make sure you use this seamsealer first and then use a fabric waterproofing, I used Kiwi Camp Dry, which worked great, otherwise your seamsealer won't stick as well to the material. Too bad the company does not work as well as their product because when I emailed them an inquiry, they simply ignored it. The product is highly recommended however.
