5These are the best hiking boots I've ever hadMar 24, 2008
By S. Hayes
I was a little leery about buying online and not trying them on first. Usually with hiking boots I end up needing a half a size larger to accomodate extra thick socks. But these were true to size. The first day I had them I took off for a little walk just hoping to try them out. I ended up hiking 3 miles through very hilly terrain with snow and ice. These boots didn't even need to be broken in! They were super comfortable and I didn't get so much as the beginning of a blister.
They are very warm, though. It's something to take into consideration if you do a lot of hiking in the summer. But they really are very rugged, well-made to last, and the most comfortable boots I own. They are worth every penny.

5Best bootNov 02, 2008
By california hiker
This is the best boot I've owned yet. I've had them for about 2 years and worn them to Yosemite, Big Basin, Manhattan and everywhere else, and no signs of cracking in the sole at all. They are very durable, in my opinion. The fit is just perfect for me- I have very narrow feet. I agree with the other reviewer that these were comfy from the get-go, no breaking in required. I plan to only buy Hi-Tek from now on.

5very comfortable shoes!Feb 28, 2009
By Erica
These are probably the most comfortable hiking boots I ever put on. For me, they run a 1/2 size larger. I usually always wear a 7 1/2, but needed a 7. They look great too!

3Back of boot uncomfortableOct 14, 2010
By Omega Wolf
This boot fit well except for the back where it rubbed against the tendon above my heel on my left foot only. I am short, so perhaps it is sized for taller people. I tried a lift inside the shoe, which cured the rubbing but caused foot pain. Finally I cut the inside top back of the shoe and removed some of the stuffing, which cured the problem. The rest of the shoe fits great, plenty of toe room, and not too heavy.

5Great hiking boots!Jan 12, 2009
By A. Lynch
I have these boots, as well as another pair of Hi-Tecs. Both are very comfortable. I think they make great boots, esp. for the price (I got one pair for half price at Big 5). I have had Vasque boots (Clarion and Sundowner) before but found them too stiff, even once they were broken in. I like the fact that these boots don't hit the back of my ankle. The dark brown color also looks nice. They don't look as bulky as my tan Hi-Tec boots even though they're the same size. I recommend them.
