5Now drop and give me 50!Jul 26, 2007
By J. A. Geary "JayDownSouthInDixie"
These push-up bars are sturdy, light and YOU WILL DEFINITELY GET A BETTER WORKOUT THAN ORDINARY PUSH-UPS THAT YOU WILL FEEL AND SEE if you use them diligently, properly and don't over-train. I even take them on the road with me (unless I'm flying) because they're light and don't take up a lot of room in my gym bag.

Push-up bars bars like these are a necessary part of any home fitness equipment to give you greater range of motion (and therefore forcing you to recruit more muscles in your arms, chest and back) than ordinary push-ups. I bought my set in the spring of 2005 when I was rehabbing my body after cancer, chemo and radiation had kicked the crap out of me and I had lost over thirty pounds. With these guys and variations of grip (wide (- -), neutral ( I I ), angled semi-narrow (/ \)) (the little slashes in parens are the positions of the bars for your grip in relation to your body - that's the best I can do), I had significantly increased my upper body strength and mass over all in a couple of months and was ready to hit the gym again.

The only drawback is that the foam padding is a tad skimpy which can get to be hard on the heels of your palms and wrists if you're doing multiple sets with high reps in a neutral position. I give these bars 5 stars for the price, the function they serve, and because they've held up nicely with fairly regular use over two years.

Addendum - 052408: It's been over three years now and they're still a staple of my home workout routine 2x a week. I do multiple reps to failure each set, so they get fairly rigorous use. Foam padding is holding up and no signs of wear and tear. I will say that if you're over 210 you might want to consider something heavier. But if you're in the 160 - 200 range (after cancer, when I first bought these - see above-, I was 147 lbs and am now 178), these should serve you just fine.

Addendum #2 - 5/3/2009. Four years now, and after lots of use (did multiple sets yesterday evening when I couldn't get to the gym) showing only minor splitting in the foam padding. I'm a steady 180, and they hold me up just fine. I've gotten more than my money's worth from these guys. When the foam finally gives it up, I'll buy another set.

Addendum # 3 - 3/13/2010. Almost 5 years and I'm STILL using them twice a week in the a.m. to get the blood flowing. 3 sets - wide, medium and neutral - feet (toes only) propped on a BOSU, to failure. The foam that was splitting a year ago hasn't gotten any worse. A friend bought me some "Perfect Push-ups" rotating discs see my review of that product Perfect Push-up - Original if you like, which I also use as break from the bars. I like the Perfect P-U's, but these guys remain my "go to" for body-weight chest, anterior delt and tri's strengthening because of the increased range of motion (slight, but noticeable).

Addendum # 4 - 11/17/2010 - Gave away my Perfect Push-up discs last month. In the last six months, hardly ever used them. Meanwhile, the Go-fits (the ones I originally purchased) STILL get regular hard use at home, even on "chest days" at the gym, and on the road. Foam splitting on one, but still holding out even after more than 5 years of use.

Addendum # 5. Yeah, they're plastic. They're cheap. So what. They work. Their portable. The foam padding on one of them finally crapped out this month (October 2011) after 6 1/2 years of hard use and many thousands of push-ups. I'd say I'd got my money's worth and then some. Time to buy another set.

1Not sturdy enough, they broke after 3 days of use!Jan 06, 2008
By Hicham Qasmi "Hitch Store"
The concept is great, the bars are light and portable; and I liked the foam grips.

I thought the bars were excellent until one of them broke around the plastic jonction area, while I was doing some push-ups. I am not a big guy at all: 6'1 feet, 179 lbs.

Don't buy them. I noticed that the second bar was also about to break. I do recommend metal ones.

5Outstanding Fitness AccessoryNov 03, 2006
By KennyR
I love the bars because they are lightweight, come apart for easy packing in my small travel bag for when I'm on the road and then go together within seconds. They allow me to have a great upper body workout while also targeting the abs. I simply vary the spacing and I can attack different parts of my arms & pecs. These were a great value and I'm buying a second set so I can keep one set in my travel bag.

1Absolute GarbageJan 04, 2007
By Basil L. Pyfrom "BLP"
This is the first review that i have done on amazon. So far i have purchased over a dozen items on Amazon and by and large i have been content/happy with all of them except this product.

This product is made of a cheap hard plastic and the assembly socket for one of the bars actually cracked when it was assembled.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Shell out about five bucks more for all metal push-up bars.

3Good value, may be better out there...Jul 21, 2008
By Roxy "roxy"
These are a good value for the money and should do the trick to improve your workouts. They really help take the strain off the wrists and are easy to put together and take apart for travel. However, I also own the Valeo ones and they are much better as far as sturdiness and are slightly angled toward the ground, allowing for more comfortable movement.
