This product works very well. doesnt make a buzzing sound that i could detect. is not the brightest but when bugs get within sight they are attracted to it and so far it has killed all that approached it, i use it inside my 18 wheeler for when i put the windows down to keep the critters off me at night and once i started using it i slept a lot better, no more bug bites.

After reading trucker Johns review, I thought I just couldn't pass this up. I bought this for my fiancee' who also happens to be a trucker. I was hearing the same complaints from him as well. He said, "if only someone would come up with a smaller bug zapper, truckers would buy them up in a heartbeat". With that said, I had my homework cut out for me. I found this right off the bat. Read the reviews and placed my order. It arrived in a timely manner. Nicely packed and it works like a charm. Best part for him, a peaceful nights rest and a conversation piece for him and his students. I would highly recomend this product as well as the seller. Thank you! First a little background; I camp near a swamp near the Adirondack region NY. Every kind of bug, biting fly, mosquito, moths, etc., is around.
This unit will draw a lot of flying insects away from you, but it simply does not have the power to kill larger bugs. It will zap mosquito size bugs & moths if they get through the grid. For this to be effective one trick is to hang it about 5 yards away from your spot, and use two pic (fly) strips 1/2 foot away on each side. The other nice thing is it seems to be solar friendly. If it took twice the amps it draws now and actually performed like I hoped it would, I would gladly buy another panel to make up for the power. ^$^&% it.

I ordered this product because we needed some thing cheap and simple to kill the occasional gnats/water flies that pop up in our home from time to time (we have pets). This was on sale and got descent reviews so I bought it. When it arrived, I discovered that it's only source of power is the kind of plug-in that goes to your cigarette lighter in your car. Why would that be useful?? That doesn't even make sense for a campsite, it should run on batteries with the option to plug it into the standard wall outlet, not a cigarette lighter! I cannot use this product and am forced to return it. I have no way to power it in my home - ridiculous! None of the other reviews for this product warned me about this. I am very disappointed and angry over this product.
