5Good tent.Jun 13, 2011
By DS
I bought this for our annual June cub scout camp out in the park (i.e. not exactly extreme camping). The tent was easy for my 8 year old son and I to set up together and very roomy for the two of us (I can see how it could easily fit 4 if needed, though it was a nice size for 2 with plenty of room for stuff). It rained most of the night with thunder and lightning, but we made it through completely dry. The rain cover worked great and still provided plenty of ventilation. There are not a lot of rope tie-downs for kids (and adults) to trip over which was nice (just 2 for the rain cover and none for the actual tent) and it was still entirely stable through our stormy night. This tent was reasonably priced and worked well for our purposes. I bought this rather than last year's model just because it was a few dollars less but my impressions of this tent seem in line with the very positive reviews for last year's model.

5Camping in IreneSep 22, 2011
By monkeybizness
Don't ask me why, but we went camping and canoeing during Hurricane Irene in the Shenandoah River for the entire weekend. This tent was easy to set up (in the dark) and was sufficient in keeping the bugs out. Saturday night, there was heavy rain and winds 45-60ish mph; pretty scary when you add some thunder and sounds of falling branches. This tent was secure and kept my wife and I dry when our friends tents sprung leaks and suffered wet sleepingbag-itis. I think fitting 4 people in the tent is a bit too cozy and it serves 2 the best if you like some room for your guns and stuff. I recommend also the mallet and metal dowels with broom/dustpan that amazon offers in the buy together option. I think those heavy duty dowels and my heavy duty self helped my tent stay secured. bottom line: a tent well worth pitchin'

3Worked well the first short trip, but....Jul 30, 2011
By T. Drenth
We purchased this tent for our adult children to sleep in during a family reunion. Everything was fine: Assembly was relatively simple and size was as expected. However, when we assembled the tent 3 weeks later, we found a tear at the seam connecting the floor material with the wall material. Thankfully, duct tape cures everything, but, really? After ONE USE? Disappointing...

So here are my scores for this tent: (1-5 stars)
Appearance: 4 stars because it was a little cheap looking
Assembly: 5 stars because it was assembled within 5 minutes by two adults
Size: 3 stars because despite the fact that Coleman calls this a 4 person tent, 4 adults could not sleep in this tent. Held one queen size air mattress with an area of about 3'x5' for your stuff.
Durability: 1 star because the seam should not be split after two nights of use.

5Great tent for the price!Sep 12, 2011
By James
Purchased this tent and immediately took it out camping with the girlfriend.

Pros - great value, VERY roomy, EASY setup
Cons - haven't found a CON yet

We got to the campsite late and had to set the tent up in the dark. Still took less than 15 minutes to get the tent up. Another review here mentioned that you could fir a queen-sized air mattress and still have some storage room. I can confirm this. There was still an 18-inch wide strip beyond our feet to keep our bags/backpacks inside the tent and out of our way.

Only other thing I would mention is that other review pointed out the quality of the zipper. No, it's not a heavy-duty zipper by any stretch of the imagination, but it doesn't/won't fall apart either. It's a zipper - if you're careful with it, it'll be fine. If you just grab it and tug, you MAY cause a problem. Bottom line - if you're even moderately careful, the zipper will be just fine.

Overall - this tent is great for two people doing any short camping trips. It's a solid value for the price. I'd want something a little more heavy-duty if I were to be camping for weeks at a time or in very cold weather, but this tent is all you'll need if you're just planning on camping out a couple nights at a time.

4Rocky Mountain HighSep 21, 2011
By J. D. Stafford
I purchased this tent after I had rented a pop-up A-frame camper for my camping trip and it blew apart in a thunderstorm in Oklahoma on my way to Rocky Mountain National Park. This tent was stellar in both New Mexico thunderstorms and thunderstorms at RMNP! The first time I set it up was at night with minimal lighting and I did it without reading instructions...no problem. I used a ground cover tarp underneath and had no issues with tearing or anything poking through the bottom. If you are one who camps a lot, this may not be the "heavy duty use" tent for you, but for me it worked just fine. If you are a group of 4 (this tent is rated for 4) I would say to get the 6 person tent as I think this one would be a bit tight for 4 people; that's why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.
