 Lights Stay on for a Long TimeMay 23, 2010

These really do stay lit for up to 20 hours. There are a lot of uses for these. We bought them for camping, but recently used them during a power outage. So far they have held up well to normal abuse as we moved them around. Also, they have held up well to the weather. The string is about six feet long and no tools are needed to replace the batteries.

These LED lanterns give off great ambient light. Can probably read by them tho I would want more light. We use them to light up the campsite when off so we don't come back to a pitch black site at night. Planning on purchasing a 2nd set.

 Good at first, not so much after 2nd trip.....Oct 20, 2011

I was looking forward to getting a lot of use out of these lights. I purchased two sets. The strand was small enough to hang just about anywhere. They lasted a long time on one set of batteries. They worked great on our first hunting/camping trip (2 nights/3 days) and made it most of the second trip. At the end of the second two day camping trip (2nd night) one of the strands went completly out. I changed the batteries and still nothing. Early the next morning, the second strand was good for about 15 minutes then the brightness of the lights started getting dimmer and back brighter again. I was sure this time that it was going to be the batteries so I changed them also. Still no luck! I was hoping better since I usually have no problem with Coleman products. I was however expecting a better product for spending almost $40 for both sets. I will still buy Coleman products, but I won't purchase any more of these. Also to inform people about these, maybe everyone should try them a couple times before reviewing these before giving a review to see if you have the same problems I had. If I would have reviewed these after the first use, it would have been all positive and misleading in my opinion. Happy Camping!

Good looking and functional. Hang a rope or something first; don't put pressure on the wiring.
