Who likes complicated and confusing?
When I go camping, the "setting up & taking down" of my tent is the part that sucks. Really sucks.
This tent is amazing. The day it showed up, I took it out of the box and set it up (just me - no one helping) in under a minute (not counting the stakes)!!
You just unfold it, extend the legs, and walk in. How awesome is that?
Don't believe me? Check Youtube. Type in "Instant Tent", look for the one with a girl in a bright yellow KOA shirt. That's the video that sold me on this tent.
It has LOTS of ventilation. the 2 sides have a large window, the back has a HUGE window. The front has a window in the door, and a window next to the door. Did I mention there are two roof vents? Yup. The roof vents have zippers on them, and a rigid "prop" thing. There's velcro on the top flap, on the top of the prop, and on the bottom of the prop (the bottom of the prop is sewn to the tent as well). You can open the roof vents from the inside by unzipping the screen and raising the prop. To close it you simply lower the prop, and velcro the top flap to the bottom of the prop.
I know, that's alot of info for something as trivial as a vent. BUT, I thought it was a very nice feature, and haven't seen it mentioned in any reviews or videos.
The windows. HUGE! I mean huge in a HUGE way! You can get plenty of air flow. When you open the windows, it's like having the whole top half of your tent as ventilation.
A note about the windows - when you open them, the flap hangs inside your tent. I've read reviews where people complained about this. Well guess what. If you leave each zipper zipped up about four inches, rather than fully open, you create a pocket of sorts, between the mesh and the fabric parts of the windows. Just stuff the flap into this little pocket, and call it good.
NO RAINFLY. I sprayed the tent with a garden hose. I mad it "rain" on top of the tent, and it also "rained" sideways all the way around. No leaks. I was concerned about the top vents, but no water got in.
When it's time to take down your tent, fold it up as instructed, then roll it, on the ground, just like a sleeping bag. Just keep rolling it until you get the air squeezed out. Not only was it easy to get this tent back in it's storage bag, I was able to put THAT back in the box that it came in!
And the carry bag. Even the bag is well planned! It has a full length zipper (think of your standard gym duffel bag, only longer). It's bigger than it needs to be, so it's easy to get the tent back in. And, if you have a hard time getting the air out of it, and CAN'T zip it, there are straps with buckles, so you can strap the top, then cinch down the buckles to tighten the bag enough to zip it up.
I chose this tent for 3 reasons: 1) it sets up easily. 2) it's tall (I'm six feet tall). 3) it doesn't cost an arm & a leg.
This is my third - or maybe fourth - Coleman tent. I've never had problems with them leaking, never had a zipper fail, never had broken poles.
I gave it four stars instead of five for two reasons. If not for these two (albeit rather insignificant) little details, I would give it five stars and then some.
FIRST: 2 storage pockets. It's a 6 man tent (in theory). Why only two measly pockets? There is a hook sewn into the peak, to hang a lantern, which is nice.
SECOND: the door is square at the bottom, creating a "corner". Since zippers don't like corners, they used two zippers. One zipper goes across the bottom, the other zipper goes across the top & down the side. Well, there's a gap. It's a tiny gap, but how much room do spiders, ants or ticks need? Where I camp, there are plenty of ticks & poisonous spiders. My new tent has a spider-sized doggy-door.
All-in-all, I have to give Coleman a thumbs up on this tent. In fact, I've already talked two people into buying this model tent, and I've only had it for 3 days.
And to whomever designed the setup assembly, a high-five, hug, and dinner :)

We just returned from camping in this tent. First time out of the box I think we had the thing set up in under two minutes. It could easily be done in 60 seconds or less next time. It reminds me of setting up our graco pack and play. I LOVED the way it set up! I was really surprised that it comes down just as easy. Fitting it back in the original bag took a couple minutes, but not any more than other tents we've had.
However, I was surprised by a few things left off. There are only two little pockets inside the tent on the side walls. I expected to find a pocket in the roof too. So we had to crawl over each other if you wanted car keys early in the morning, etc. There were only two small roof vents. If you camp in summer I think this tent would get hot. In my opinion the biggest mistake was there is no way to tie the windows open. THe are made so you can kind of tuck them in themselves, but that didn't work even in our light breeze. We tried sleeping with the windows open but the unzipped windows were flapping right at face level (on air mattresses). We tried sleeping with them half open, but the constant flapping could drive you nuts. So we slept with the fully closed. This was fine because it was cool, but I would not recommend the tent for summer because of that. However, if you hate the set up and tear down, this tent is amazing.
We had one queen and two twin air mattresses. This tent was a tight squeeze for us, but we were able to fit. I think it is a little smaller than our last 6 person tent. We are going to return it for the 8 person so we won't be so squished next time. Also, the 8 person appears to have much longer windows. I think that they will be long enought to lay on the floor and then set a duffle or something on top of the window flap. THat should keep the windows from flapping in our face all night. Also, the bigger windows would help to keep the tent cooler for summer camping.
We had only a very light rain one morning and stayed dry. I have no idea how it would do in heavier rain.

After receiving the tent by UPS, my wife and I set it up in our family room, just for practice and to see how easy it really was. First time out of the box it took us about a minute and a half to set up. That, of course did not include stakes and guy lines. It took us about 5 minutes to take it down, primarily because we didn't get the air out on the first attempt and had to open it back up and do it again. But we finally got it back in the case.
First time out in the field, it was my 13 yo grandson and I setting it up. It took a couple of minutes to get it up (in a 15 mph wind with gusts to maybe 20). Then we had to struggle with the stakes. This was not the fault of the tent - the ground was hard as a rock due to lack of rain! After staking was done and the guy lines were set, the tent was quite stable even in the wind.
The only reason I gave it four stars rather than five is because the wind and the resulting rustling/flapping noise kept me awake a lot of the night. Once again most of the blame for that was the weather and not the tent. I also believe there is virtually no such thing as a perfect product. This tent isn't far from that though.
Temps were in the high 70s/high humidity and the tent was comfortable with sufficient ventilation. No rain during the night.
It took my grandson and I about 2 minutes to take it down (after pulling the stakes!). No problems this time with getting the tent into the case because we got the air out the first time.
All in all, I'd say this is a very good tent with no major problems.

Used this tent for the first time this past weekend. Super easy to set up/take down!
Lots of room for the two of us. However, I can't imagine six people fitting in this at all--
even four would be tight. The only disappointment was that it leaked. We had a rainstorm
one night that lasted about 5 hours. Not windy, just rain. We were cold and damp -- the tent leaked badly,
especially in the areas of the 2 inside pockets, and other places as well. So . . . we purchased a large
screen house to put over the tent for next time. Hopefully, that will help keep us dry. Live and learn.
In my opinion, this tent definitely needs a rain fly. Hope this helps anyone who is considering this item.
Forgot to mention that days before we left for the camp, I set up the tent and gave 2 coats of "Camp Dry."
That didn't prevent leaks either. Just be prepared if you are using this tent in the rain --

I am a 60 year-old woman. I just purchased this tent and set it up alone for the first time in less than two minutes. It was amazing! I love the large windows and quality of all parts. I took it down and re-packed it in less and 4 minutes. I would suggest that you put down a tarp before setting up your tent so that it re-packs cleanly. Really, I love this tent!
