Easier recoveriesAug 30, 2010
By P. Abrey I've had a history of knee problems so was looking for anything to help.
Despite being skeptical as to the real benefits of compression wear, I did my research and decided on this Ventilator's given I live in a tropical climate. The tights fit like a glove (I referred to the sizing guide), and an unexpected benefit is reduced muscular soreness after the runs I use these on when compared to the runs I don't use them (which are often shorter runs too). I do around 30 miles/week.
So far as the heat is concerned, I feel like these actually help cool me down as they catch the moisture and help it evaporate rather than have it run into my shoes.
No reoccurrence of issues with my knee's so far either.

Buying a second pair of CW-XDec 05, 2010
By ModernMan As a 21 year old athletic male, I enjoy running very much. However, historically the cold has presented a problem, as I hate loose material chaffing against my legs - e.g. sweat pants. When I learned about compression clothing, I did some digging, and as it turns out, there is quite a lot of technology and research behind the genre. However, only the CW-X line is so specifically tailored towards binding ligaments, reducing muscle oscillation and holding the joints in place.
Born from Wocoal, a Japanese intimate apparel company, CW-X was founded in 1991 with the intention of creating clothing which is both stylish and performance enhancing. As anyone who wears these tights can tell you, they have succeeded in both aspects. Not only do they not chaff, but the tights are extremely comfortable and have significantly boosted my athletic statistics. Moreover, they look very nice, provided you wear boxer briefs underneath. I would imagine that if you did not comply with the latter, the effect would be similar to that of being a flasher. Lastly, one of my female running partners has told me several times that girls running the other way have "checked me out", so that's also a plus.
If you are on the edge, just buy them. It took me a while to be comfortable in them, but if you need a buffer period, wear shorts over them. The boost and protection they offer make more than nullify any insecurities which some men might have. These are absolutely worth it. If nothing else, they are great for recovery after a long run - sometimes I even sleep in them if I feel an injury coming on.
P.S. I run in temperatures ranging from 30 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit with the CW-X compression socks underneath, and have found that this model offers plenty of protection against the cold.

Skeptic turned fanMar 26, 2011
By T I decided to run in a marathon and started training for it. When I started to get up into the higher mileage, double digits, I started experiencing leg and knee pains I had not had before. I tried all sorts of things to remedy the situation, calf compression, KT tape, and new shoes. Despite various techniques I was still experiencing discomfort in running.
I decided that it might be helpful to get more compression all over my legs since I liked my calf sleeve. I decided to go with the CWX Ventilator's because it offered knee support, the part of my leg that was the most troublesome.
Like most people trying running tights for the first time, I was skeptical if I would like them. I tend to enjoy the freedom of movement in my legs and thought these tights would be too restrictive. I also worried about how warm I would get since I live in Southern California. I do most of my running at nights but the temperature, even in winter, usually did not drop below 50 degrees.
Well I can say that for me, these two fears were unfounded. I have found I actually enjoy running in these tights. The ventilation provided in these tights does what they are supposed to, keep you cool. The compression is actually quite nice to have and does not overly restrict my running motion. The support for the knees is OK, but not great. The one slight against these is for anybody looking for a miracle. I still experienced some leg pains but with a combination of things, was able to reduce it to a bearable level. I would only take off 1/2 star for this, but since I can't do that at Amazon, I have to give it a 4.
I ended up running the marathon in these tights. I also did all my long runs in these tights. Was never too warm or uncomfortable, but to be fair the LA marathon in 2011 was in the middle of a miserable cold storm so having running tights ended up being really important.
I also bought the Stabilyx running tights, also from CWX to see if the support there would be better. Definitely better than the ventilators but not so much so that I prefer those to these since they are decidedly warmer to wear and in my opinion more restrictive. Between the two, I would recommend these, especially if you run in warmer weather.

Understand your running gearNov 27, 2010
By Steven B Olson I have come to love these running tights. When I ordered them, I was concerned because I was in the gray area of the size chart and could go larger or smaller. After reading reviews of other people and hearing problems with the tights sliding down while running, I went with the small size even though, being 5' 9" and over 200 pounds just 3 months ago (now 160), never thought I would buy small anything. I am glad that I did because I have never had a problem with the tights slipping and they stay where they belong.
One thing to note: be sure to try them on shorter runs if this is your first pair of running tights. Your body will need to adjust to the tights as they really are a new piece of running equipment. You will definitely feel the difference when you wear these. The first time I wore these, I chose a longer run and ended up getting a pulled muscle. Just be aware that the tights are going to provide support over the legs and knees which means that parts of the body are going to get worked differently than without the tights.
However, after wearing on a couple of shorter runs, these tight are now the first thing I go for when I am getting ready for any distance run. I love these tights and would highly recommend them.

great running supportApr 27, 2010

I love these ventilated support tights. They are true to size, and feel really good and offer great support. The ventilation is good for warm weather running. I have run in 75 degrees with them and they were very comfortable. I enjoy running in the pants, as they are supportive especially for my calves and quads and give my legs a true sense of extra energy. I do have to say during my long runs, greater than 6 miles I frequently feel like the pull is downward until I tug upward on the thighs. Maybe I am doing something wrong there. However, in spite of that, I wear them on all my long runs. I have had them for about 1 month. I have run a 5 k race and numerous training runs. My 5k was a personal record by almost a minute, (I also lost 10 #).
