5Great Internal Frame packJan 10, 2009
By poprocksuicide "9999/9999"
This is a very good deal. I looked at packs for almost a month before resting on this one. Tough construction and rain resistant, I've had no problems in my last four backpacks. All straps are adjustable and comfortable. I gave this five stars because the price is so extremely cheap for a great pack.

2The stitching shouldn't pop on the first flightMar 29, 2009
By Parkakat
This pack has thick fabric and looks tough. But looks can be deceiving. The stitching along the back inside walls popped when I used it as checked baggage on a two-hop flight.

The popped seams are visible from the outside. When I looked inside, I found that the reinforcement tape over the seams was not properly aligned, and one of the two rows of stitches was not on the reinforcement tape. So one row of fairly weak thread is all that is holding these two seams together. The whole back wall could come open if they fail.

There are lots of roomy pockets. But all the pockets have only one zipper pull. This means that if the zipper fails, the pockets will be useless. It also mean there is not one pocket that can be locked on the pack.

Beyond that, the design is good, and the pack is reasonably comfortable. But if you are doing any serious hiking or traveling, equipment failure could spell disaster.

This pack is good for light use, lightly packed for short trips or hikes. If you are going to use it for anything else, inspect the seams closely on arrival, and test it out with a full load before venturing out.

5Great value in a packJan 04, 2009
By C. Brown
Bought for an overseas trip, and was favorably impressed with the quality and accessibility. They ship with an initial charge and then by pound, so shop their store if you may need something else from this vendor. I bought two packs, and the second shipped for a relatively small additional charge (and promptly processed and shipped). Couldn't be happier with the pack.

5A Risk you won't regret.Aug 18, 2009
By J. Payne "-jP"
I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this pack because of the price as others have stated, but I took a chance on it. Actually, I took 2 chances. I bought one for myself (blue) and one for my friend (red). We backpacked outwest for 2 weeks- Half Dome at Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, the works. The bags held up great with no problems at all. We stuffed them full as well, and never had a problem with ripped or torn seams. This is a large bag- so it may be a bit heavier than some smaller packs, but when you're packing your life on your back the extra room is very much appreciated. The material looks and feels strong- I couldn't find a flimsy place on it. The "stiffness of the zippers" really isn't an issue at all.

5This bag made it across London, Amsterdam, and Africa....Aug 25, 2010
By Joe
Purchased this bag for an overlanding camping trip in Africa, the trip was 21 days, walked around with this bag all day in London and a lot in Amsterdam, in Africa the bag was constantly removed from truck and replaced. The bag was checked on 4 international flights and flew over 25,000 miles in 21 days through 3 continents. 3 outside pockets, 1 inside pocket, zip from bottom or top, plenty of padding and was very comfortable even when i had up to 40 lbs in the bag. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

UPDATE: I've now had this bag over a year, I share it with a friend who takes it on international trips, this bag has been to Spain twice, Israel, Colombia, China, to name a few, it still is in mint condition and still even smells new. It's had to run through airports to make security checks, it's been camping, it's been it posh hotels, and grimy hostels, it's been through a lot, and there is still no bag I'd rather have!
