Not for Gnats!!Nov 03, 2009
By dw Do your own research. Apparently there are two strains or subspecies of BT (Bacillus Thuringiensis), and this one (kurstaki) is only for moth larvae and caterpillars. The strain for gnats, small fly, and mosquito larvae is a different one (israelensis). I read a previous seemingly informative review on this product, which in fact endorsed it for my problem - fungus gnats in household plants. (As does the listed description - "Worm Killer and Gnat Control") Largely based on that review I purchased Thuricide, but on its arrival found that the application guide didn't mention gnats. Doing more investigation led to an extension office handout (university based) explaining about the different strains. I'm still confused about the review, but believe it is inaccurate! Bottom line seems to be sure to get Bacillus Thuringiensis subspecies israelensis for gnats!

Even better than I expected!Jul 16, 2007
By W. Melillo After budworms had reduce my petunia flowerbox to skinny green leaves and only one lonely flower, I decided to try B.T. rather than a harsh aerosol poison. I had a very difficult time finding this product in the stores in my area (eastern PA), so orderd through Amazon. The product arrived quickly and after only two weekly applications my flowerbox is bright, blooming and filled with flowers once again. I am thrilled and so are the bees and hummingbirds which visit my other plants. No kidding this stuff is great !!!

Excellent productMay 30, 2007
By Plant Princess For a belts-and-suspenders approach to inchworms. Use Tanglefoot on the trunks of affected trees in April and use Thuricide spray in May on your plants. It's very economical - as opposed to paying someone and arm and a leg to do the spraying for you! - and extremely effective. Note: I spray every morning, using a Black and Decker portable battery sprayer. A life-saver for plants.

I had caterpillars eating up my Texas Mountain Laurel, devouring all new growth. Tried several products but they kept coming back. The BT did the trick so far.

Caterpillar Killer ReviewOct 11, 2010
By Amazon Prime Customer Bonide Bt Thuricide 8-Ounce Worm Killer arrived quicker than was stated on the order confirmation. It worked on only one use, but I plan to spray the houseplants again before I bring them indoors when it gets cold. I used it on the indoor plants that I took outside for the warm weather and the outdoor plants. I highly recommend the seller and the product.
