Near professional results if done correctly.Mar 30, 2009
By Todd Hagee Follow the supplied instructions and supplement them with the tons of info on stock refinishing you can find on the web, and you will produce some nice results with this kit. It takes TIME and PATIENCE. It took two weeks and ten THIN coats of the Tru-Oil on a bolt action rifle stock, but I could hand this gun to most any average gun enthusiast and they would not notice that the wood had been redone. You will probably need to buy some extra sandpaper to do a good job, but other than that it's all in the kit. PROTIP: If I did it over again, I would only use one coat of the stain. It doesn't look like its coloring the wood very much, but the Tru-Oil darkens the wood nicely on its own.

worked greatNov 16, 2008
By Joseph Strogish got an old H&R break action shot gun used at the local gun shop for 60$$. the stock was real ugly and torn up, everything else works great. so i got the gun stock kit and did what it said to do in the little manual. it worked great looks brand new.i also used it on the necks of my Ibanez S470 and Jackson dk2m guitars, wicked sweet!

Birchwood CaseyNov 09, 2011
By frankel3 I have used birchwood casey products for over twenty years, refinishing rifle stocks, wood gun grips, presentation cases, etc. work in a clean dust free room for best results, give each coat time to cure. The more time and coats you put into a stock, the better it will look, follow instructions.

best gun refinish kit on the market.Aug 23, 2010
By blueshift2 The great thing about this kit is it doesn't matter if its your first time or your 100th time you will always get it right. it comes with step by step instructions wrote from a top gun refinisher on the market. The product is simple easy to use and i have done 3 rifles from a kit or 5-8 shotgun stocks and forearms. Now if its your first time i dont expect you to get that many out of one kit Cause its a little bit trial and error. But all in all the process is easy and the finish looks great and last for years.
OK, but ended up with a super glossy finishJan 21, 2012
By Eileen Bennett Kind of disappointed. I ended up with a super glossy finish, which is pretty unheard of for gun stocks. It doesn't indicate that it's a high gloss anywhere on the packaging, or I definitely would have opted for a satin or just used linseed oil. It's fine for now, but I will eventually end up stripping this down and starting over.
